انطلاقا من التزامها بالتنمية المستدامة، أطلقت قطر ستيل تقريرها الثالث الخاص بالاستدامة لعام 2013. ويؤكد هذا التقرير مجددا على التزام قطر ستيل بالتنمية المستدامة، ويحدد إطار الاستدامة وخارطة مساهميها، والإنجازات الرئيسة التي حققتها الشركة خلال عام 2013، كما يتضمن التقرير العديد من الالتزامات التي تعتبر عاملا محفزا لقطر ستيل لتحسين أدائها في مجال الاستدامة. وتتوافق الجهود التي تقوم بها قطر ستيل لتحقيق الاستدامة مع الأولويات التي حددتها رؤية قطر الوطنية 2030 واستراتيجية التنمية الوطنية. وبهذه المناسبة، صرح السيد علي بن حسن المريخي، العضو المنتدب والمدير العام قائلا: ” على مستوى قطاع الحديد والصلب، فإننا سنواصل مشاركتنا الفعالة ودورنا البناء في برنامج إعداد وتقديم التقارير حول التنمية المستدامة، الذي يهدف إلى تعزيز أداء قطاع الطاقة والصناعة في مجال التنمية المستدامة.” وبما أن تلبية احتياجات السوق القطري تقع على رأس أولويات واهتمامات قطر ستيل، فقد قامت الشركة بإنجاز مشروع الفرن الكهربائي الخامس (EF5) في عام 2013، بطاقة إنتاجية قدرها 1,1 مليون طن Read more…

On the World Blood Donors’ Day, a blood donor recognition ceremony was held by Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), at St. Regis Hotel- Doha, under the patronage of HE Abdulla Bin Khaled Al-Qahtani, Minister of Public Health. Qatar Steel was one of the national companies who were honored for co-sponsoring the blood donors’ recognition ceremony, and also in appreciation for their role and valuable contributions to support and launch blood donation drives for their employees. As a rule, Qatar Steel organizes a blood donation drive every year, in coordination and cooperation with HMC, with the view of enriching its blood stock, and to help save the lives of the patients who are in sever need for blood. Within the framework of supporting the charitable, humanitarian, educational events and activities, Qatar Steel co-sponsored QSRPSN’s annual art and handicrafts expo, held at Marriott Hotel- Doha. The one day event was organized and inaugurated by QSRPSN’s educational and rehabilitation centers for girls, with the attendance of high officials from QSRPS, specialists and other concerned dignitaries. Art portraits and handicrafts were displayed, reflecting the special need students’ capabilities, talents and craft skills. Qatar Steel’s initiative to support and sponsor the expo emerged from the vital role played by QSRPSN, to rehabilitate the special need students, help them mingle with the community, realize their self-recognition and encourage them to further develop their artistic talents and potentials.
