Within the framework of honoring and recognizing the blood donors, a gala ceremony was held at Doha Sheraton Hotel, under the patronage of HE Abdulla Bin Khaled Al-Qahtani, Minister of Public Health and Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Health. The event was under the theme: “Every Blood Donor is a Hero”. Qatar Steel was honored as one of the national companies who greatly contributed to the success of the blood donors’ drives during 2011, and as one of the sponsors of the blood donors’ recognition ceremony 2012.  Qatar Steel was also recognized for its effective support and valuable contributions in this respect. In coordination with the Blood Unit at Hamad Medical Corporation, Qatar Steel launched a blood donation drive at its premises in MIC. As a rule, Qatar Steel holds a blood donation drive annually, believing that all individuals in the community should take part in this noble act, to help increase and support the stocks of blood at the hospital. To enhance the social ties among staff, Qatar Steel held the annual family day at Doha Exhibitions Center, aiming at entertaining its staff, creating a pleasant family and fun atmosphere and drawing a smile and joy on their children’s faces. This event was attended by a great number of employees and their families. It was a good opportunity for them to spend a nice and enjoyable day away from work pressure and routine busy day life. The program included different fun activities, folkloric music and dancing shows, which reflected the heritage, traditions and cultures of different communities, and they won the admiration of the spectators.
