To commemorate the completion of the 6- months training program given by Qatar Steel to the second batch of Saudi South Steel trainees, a celebration was held at Doha Mariette Hotel, with the attendance of HE Mr. Hindi Bin Nayef Bin Humaid, Advisor of the Embassy of Saudi Arabia in the State of Qatar.

Attended the event were Mr. Ali Bin Hassan Al-Muraikhi, Director and General Manager of Qatar Steel, Eng. Mohamed Fayez Darjam, Vice Chairman of the South Steel Company (SSC). Dignitaries, senior officials from both companies and some other invitees from KSA were also present.

Mr. Ali Bin Hassan Al-Muraikhi, Director and General Manager of Qatar Steel expressed his pleasure to celebrate the successful completion of the intensive training program set by Qatar Steel for South Steel trainees. He said that, with the graduation of the 2nd batch of the Saudi South Steel trainees, Qatar Steel has finalized the scheduled training program, designed for 100 trainees.

Mr. Al-Muraikhi pointed out that Qatar Steel has pledged to do its utmost to provide all support to South Steel and as required, and that it will continue its cooperation in all domains.

“Currently there is a complete coordination between the two companies in all domains. Qatari engineers and technicians have been dispatched to South Steel to work side by side with their Saudi colleagues, for the initial operation of the Rolling Mill and the Electric Furnace at a later stage, hoping it will be a good initiative and a step forward towards implementing more projects, and above all to see the national manpower take part in such achievements.”, Al-Muraikhi added.

Eng. Mohamed Fayez Darjam, Vice Chairman of the South Steel Company (SSC), extended his thanks and appreciation to Qatar Steel’s management for the success of the training program provided to South Steel’s trainees.

“Not long time ago, training courses were taken in the west, but now, thanks God, we can exchange the scientific and professional expertise inside the GCC countries. Six months have elapsed since we celebrated the graduation of the 1st batch of the South Steel trainees, and today we have gathered to celebrate the graduation of the 2nd batch, hoping they have made the best of the training, which could not have succeeded without the sincere efforts of both Qatar Steel and South Steel.”, Eng. Darjam added.
