In a tough encounter held at Dukhan Cricket ground, Qatar Steel emerged runners up in the final match played with Al-Khor Community (Ras Gas) in the Oil & Gas Cricket Tournament (2017) on Dec 9, 2017. The final match was observed by large numbered Qatar Steel employees and other public.

The exciting semi-final match held on the same ground with QAFCO exhibited some wonderful performance by Qatar Steel team who emerged as winner.
During the league matches continued for 5 weeks, total 17 teams from QP and its subsidiaries and joint ventures took part in the tournament and Qatar Steel remained unbeaten, except the final which they lost to Al-Khor Community (RAS GAS).
