Chairman’s Message

As a proud Qatari company, Qatar Steel strives to align its priorities with Qatar National Vision 2030, based on the pillars of successful social, economic, human, and environmental development of Qatar.

The journey of Qatar Steel in the State of Qatar is a unique story of success for the country and its people.

Qatar Steel is integrated into all aspects of Qatari society. As part of Industries Qatar, the company has invested not only in the development of infrastructure, but also in its people, through employment and procurement opportunities, community investment programs and collaboration with academic institutions.

Since gaining independence in 1971, Qatar has risen to prominence both regionally and internationally to become an economic, political and cultural powerhouse in the Middle East and hence in its efforts to meet the growing demand for steel in Qatar and the region, Qatar Steel was founded in 1974. Since completion of Qatar Steel, the first integrated steel plant in the region in 1978, now-a-days it is well in position to meet customer requirements with the highest standard of quality assurance. Loyalty and dedication of its employees have enabled the business to expand its reach across the globe. The company continues to enhance its relationships with clients, suppliers, its subsidiaries, affiliates and other stakeholders to emerge as the most reputable International steel producer in Qatar.

Qatar Steel is committed to sustainable development and will continue its efforts to reduce the ecological footprint, reduce energy and resource consumption, and to enhance recyclability. As the Chairman of the Board, I am delighted that these landmark achievements would not have been possible without adhering to the highest health, safety and environmental standards, coupled with the use of the cultural diversity of its manpower as a source of strength.

We are indebted to His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of the State of Qatar, whose support and guidance has inspired and motivated the success of Qatar Steel, enhancing the trust it has earned from its stakeholders.

It is a great pleasure for us to unveil the new vision-mission-and-values for Qatar Steel adopted in December 2021 and hope that it will enable and accelerate the drive into the future.
