QS Annual Sports were held from 19th February to 13th March 2017 at MIC sports Complex and Al Reem club in Mesaieed. Teams from different departments were formed to compete with each other, and the activities included football, basketball, cricket, lawn tennis, badminton and table tennis. The closing ceremony was held on 13th March, 2017, and was attended by a great number of employees and their families. Mr. Saed M. Alroomi, PRO Manager distributed the prizes to the winners. Qatar Steel’s management is keen to carry out annual sports activities for its employees’ welfare and motivation, in addition to keep them healthy and fit.

With a view to shed the light on job market requirements and to familiarize students and parents with the prospective career and academic paths available, Qatar Steel participated in the 6th Annual Career Fair for Universities & Work Sectors, organized by Al-Wakra Secondary School. The inauguration ceremony was held under the auspices of Mr. Mohamed Ali M. Mandani Al-Emadi, principal of Wakra Secondary school for boys and Mr. Ahmed Albueinin, Head of Trustees Council. Attended the event were school faculty, representatives of some educational institutions and public and private organizations, as well as government organizations and diplomatic missions accredited to Qatar. Qatar Steel participated in the Career Forum organized by Qatar University from 6th -9th March 2017, at the College of Business & Economics. Over 60 leading governmental and private organizations participated in the event, which was designed to provide ambitious, qualified and skilled students a platform to interact and engage directly with companies’ representatives and top prospective employers, to get insight into the work requirements and to find suitable job opportunities.
