H.E. Dr. Mohamed Bin Saleh Al-Sada, Minister of Energy and Industry, Chairman of Qatar Petroleum awarded the three football teams who won the 15th Chairman’s Cup Tournament, which was held at Al-Ghazal Club in Ras Abou Aboud area. Amwaj team got the first position and was awarded the championship’s cup and golden medals, Kahrama team was the runner up, and got the silver medals, while Qatar Steel team came third and was awarded the bronze medals On behalf of Qatar Steel, Mr. Ahmed Abdul Aziz Al-Ansari, Commercial Division Manager, attended the awarding ceremony, and shared H.E. the minister in honoring the winning teams, the organizers and supervisors of the Tournaments. Qatar Steel team expressed their excitement for this victory and extended their deep thanks and gratitude to top management and all employees for their continual support and encouragement throughout the tournaments. In culmination of the persistent efforts to protect the environment, and recycle the industrial wastes,resulted from steel manufacturing, for better reuse and reinvestment, and within the framework of consolidating and strengthening the co-operation ties between Qatar Steel and the private sector, Qatar Steel has signed a sale and recycling slag contract with Slag Aggregate Producer (S.A.P), located in Doha. The sale contract was signed by Mr. Ali Bin Hassan Al-Murakhi, Director and General Manager of Qatar Steel, and Sheikh Khaled Bin Hamad Bin Jassim Al-Thani, Managing Director of SAP. High officials of both sides attended the signing ceremony. As per this contract, Qatar Steel shall sell to SAP one million ton of slag as steel wastes.
