Qatar Steel is participating in the 4th edition of Qatar Career Fair (QCF) 2011 as a pearl sponsor, which was inaugurated by under the kind patronage of HH Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, the Heir Apparent, on Sunday 10 April and will continue until Thursday, 14 April at the Qatar Exhibition Center. Qatar Steel’s participation in QCF is part of the leading strategy adopted by the wise Qatari policy with a view to achieving sustained investment in the human capital and guiding the rising generation on their career and practical future. This participation reflects Qatar Steel’s vision of attracting and recruiting Qatar efficiencies to work and contribute to achieving the State of Qatar’s vision for sustainable development. It is also part of Qatar Steel’s keenness to attract ambitious Qatari young people, who are interested in professional work.

Under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Mohammed Bin Saleh Al Sada, Minister of Energy and Industry the State of Qatar hosted the Arab Steel Summit 2011 in Marriott Doha on 4th April 2011 alongside with an International Exhibition for iron & steel, this event is organized by Arab Iron and Steel Union in coordination with the Qatar Steel. The event was inaugurated by Mr. Ali bin Hassan Al Muraikhi, Director and General Manager of Qatar Steel and attended by a large number of delegations from regional & International leading Iron & steel manufacturing companies particularly from the Arab world. The summit had been organized as a continuation of the successes seen in all the previous Arab Iron & Steel Union (AISU) annual events, the last of which was the «Arab Steel Summit 2010» held in Marrakech, Morocco.

Under the theme: “Blood donation is a charity and a humanitarian and national duty” As part of Qatar Steel Management’s commitment to interact and be involved with and serve the community in Qatar and firm belief that blood donation is noble way for serving humanity, Qatar Steel organized a blood donation campaign on Wednesday, 29 March 2011. The blood donation event took place in the Company’s premises in Mesaeid Industrial City with the participation of many of the Company’s staff members from various departments and divisions. This campaign was organized in line with the Company’s values and commitment to spread and promote charitable initiatives aimed to serve the community and enhance its welfare.
