Qatar Steel participated in Project Qatar 2013, which was held from May 6 – 9, at the Doha Exhibition Center, under the patronage of HE Sheikh Jassim Bin Abdulaziz Bin Jassim Bin Hamad al-Thani, Minister of Business and Trade.
Project Qatar 2013 aims to explore key investment opportunities in construction sector, and to provide a strategic and dynamic platform for the construction industry’s key players and decision makers to discuss current trends and issues, showcase products and services and reinforce business ties between buyers and sellers.
More than 2,100 exhibitors from across 50 countries participated in the high-impact four-day event, which provides networking opportunities that have been designed to foster the formation of new partnerships to help bolster Qatar’s already flourishing construction industry.
Mr. Ali Bin Hassan Al-Muraikhi, Director and General Manager of Qatar Steel voiced his delight at taking part in Project Qatar Expo, where the company can showcase its high quality steel products, as the construction sector in Qatar is booming, and as the country gears up to host the FIFA World Cup in 2022, and implement mega infrastructure projects, including the construction of stadiums, building a metro and rail network, and other vital ventures.
“Project Qatar’ is now established as Qatar’s most important exhibition for highlighting the latest products and services required for Qatar’s fast growing construction sector and has become a destination of choice for regional and international industry professionals”, added Mr. Al-Muraikhi.
Mr. Ahmed Abdul Aziz Al-Ansari, Commercial Division Manager said that this year’s Project Qatar unveiled an advanced matchmaking platform for businesses to meet potential partners and suppliers.
“The exhibitors in the construction show can benefit from massive exposure to premier regional agents, dealers, buyers, distributors and suppliers to make contacts and drive in future large-scale developments and projects in Qatar’s construction sector”, added Mr. Al-Ansari.
Qatar Steel expects to find in Project Qatar a perfect investment opportunity and hopes the event can forge potential deals with new major customers locally and overseas.
Qatar Steel was formed in 1974 as the first integrated steel plant in the Arabian Gulf. The Commercial production commenced in 1978, with the company becoming wholly owned by Industries Qatar in 2003.
