In pursuit of its objective to implement the quality Qatarization policy endorsed by the State of Qatar, Qatar Steel organized a career open day on 27th Sep, 2014, at Marriott Hotel- Doha.
The aim of the event was to familiarize Qatari graduates with the job opportunities available and the academic qualifications required, as well as to brief them about the training programs provided. A team from HR and Training & Development Departments met the students and responded to their questions and queries.
Qatar Steel gives absolute priority to its human resources, and is striving to ensure that Qatari nationals with the appropriate qualifications are recruited, developed, and retained for career employment in the company. All necessary steps are taken for them to be advanced to their highest potential, provided that the quality and efficiency is maintained.
Mr. Kefah Mostafa Al-Mulla, Admin. Division Manager, declared that Qatar Steel’s initiative to hold a career open day comes in terms of supporting the company’s Qatarization Strategy
“Our HR Dept. is constantly and persistently doing its utmost with a view to raise the percentage of Qatari manpower, through setting on-going plans to achieve this target, and it provides promising job opportunities to young Qataris and grants them attractive job benefits, which would guarantee their successful career in the future.
Mr. Yousef Abdullah Al-Mansouri, Learning and Development Manager, said that organizing a career open day by Qatar Steel aims at familiarizing the public with the job opportunities and qualifications, the training programs and scholarships available at the company.
After the event, the applications were calculated and sorted out, in accordance with the disciplines involved, including qualifications in different areas. The total number of applicants of both genders reached 136; 57 with university degree, 49 with Secondary school certificates, 10 with Diploma and (1) Msc. Application forms for scholarships and internships programs were 19.
Qatar Steel spares no effort to take any initiative that would encourage the young Qataris to join the company. Career open days are organized with a view to attract the Qatari graduates, who are seeking suitable jobs, and to start the careers that would meet their ambitions, and would contribute to the country’s development and prosperity.
