In line with its constant commitment to the community, Qatar Steel organized a blood donation drive in its premises in Mesaieed, in coordination with Hamad Medical Corporation’s mobile Blood Transfusion Unit.

Employees from various departments showed good response and high awareness about the importance of the blood donation drive and the positive impact on the society.

As a rule, PR & Communications Dept. in Qatar Steel organizes blood donations drive, believing that it is an inspiring, rich and rewarding opportunity for our employees to show their support for their community, through participation in a team-focused activity.

We believe that such initiatives would contribute to sustaining and encouraging a culture of voluntary work, by spreading awareness about the importance of blood donation and its role in saving the lives of sick and injured , as well as to meet the growing needs of patients through continual blood donation drives.”, he pointed out.

Besides, donating blood is looked upon as a humane and patriotic duty, which reflects the concept of coherence and integration among members of the community. A big responsibility lies on the shoulders of government institutions and private sectors to support community activities and events, which would help boost cooperation ties between various groups and members of the community and to develop patriotism and loyalty, and spread a culture of giving and sharing among individuals and society at large.
