In honor and recognition of its excellence in sustainability reporting, and in compliance with sustainable development, Qatar Steel has been recently awarded, among some leading industrial companies in Qatar, for excellence in sustainability reporting. The awarding ceremony was held under the auspices of HE Dr. Mohamed Bin Saleh Al-Sada, Minister of Energy and Industry, Chairman of QP and managing Director.
Qatar Steel, among seven large-scale leading industrial companies in Qatar, was awarded “Runner-Up Certificate for its commitment towards sustainable development, and for the quality and credibility of its sustainable report.
Qatar Steel’s 2012 sustainability report included a comprehensive demonstration of the company’s performance in environmental, social and economic domains. The report was produced as per the directives of the company’s Board in this respect, demonstrating the company’s commitment to the long-term growth and development, as well as various sustainability initiatives and projects undertaken by Qatar Steel.
Mr. Ali Bin Hasan Al-Muraikhi, Director and General Manager of Qatar Steel declared that warding Qatar Steel for excellence in Sustainability report is certainly attributed to the continual support and wise directives of Qatar Steel’s Chairman and Board Directors that helped us achieve the highest performance levels in producing the report.
“Such an award reflects our relentless commitment to sustainable development, and our constant efforts to preserve the environment, in line with Qatar National Vision 2013, and the National Development Strategy 2011-2016. In this respect, we are keen to turn all our industrial operations to be environment-friendly, by reducing its environmental overall impact through using state-of-the-art production technology and continuous improvement of efficiency.” he added.
Mr. Ahmed Abdul Aziz Al-Ansari, Commercial Division Manager at Qatar Steel, said that honoring participants in the sustainable development reports is a pride to all local industrial companies, and it is distinct evidence that this sector is totally committed to sustainable development.
