In line with the cooperation existing between Qatar Steel and various organizations and educational institutions in Qatar, students of 13th batch Accountancy Department from Ahmed Bin Mohamed Military College-Doha visited Qatar Steel plant site in Mesaieed Industrial City, as part of their knowledge enhancement programs, meant to boost their academic knowledge in their disciplines and supplementing it with practical exposure.
The visit was aimed at providing the students with an opportunity to get familiar with the production stages at Qatar steel’s manufacturing facilities and getting first-hand insight into general financial and accountancy, which the visiting students are specialized in.
Two presentations were given during the visit. The first one was about the company’s steel manufacturing and production, while the second one included general information about financial and administrative tasks; like budget setting, auditing, accountancy and the use of Balanced Scorecard in controlling the performance of the departments and later they were taken on a tour around the plant’s various units and facilities.
Upon completion of the tour, the guests extended their thanks and gratitude to Qatar Steel’s management for providing them an opportunity to visit the plant and understand the steel making, and also to hear about the company’s financial and accountancy tasks.
The students expressed their delight that the visit was quite beneficial for them; both academically and practically, which would help them in progressing in their future career.
