Qatar Steel celebrated the Occupational Health and Safety Day at its Head quarter in Mesaieed Industrial city, a celebration where the company takes into consideration of its community responsibility and the importance of maintaining health, safety and the environment. The ceremony was attended by Eng. Mohammed Bin Nasser Al-Hajri, Managing Director & General Manager, along with Division and Department Managers, employees from various Departments and Contractors. Within the framework of its commitment to corporate social responsibility, and in line with its ongoing support to the local community, Qatar Steel has recently organized, in cooperation with the Blood Bank Unit at Hamad Medical Corporation, a blood donation drive at its premises in Mesaieed Industrial City. Through this drive, Qatar Steel aims at promoting the employees’ awareness of the importance of blood donation, as a humanitarian initiative that serves the community at large. The blood drive was a success, thanks to the good response shown by Qatar Steel’s staff and also to their true belief in such a noble act. Eng. As part of P R Dept.’s welfare activity aimed at maintaining harmony within the employees and boast their productive morale, every year Annual Sports is organized. This year too it was organized which received huge response from all departments including office n plant staff. Sports is an important extracurricular activity; it releases mental tension, improves personality and develops public relationship. Enthusiastic employees participated in large numbers in six different sports, like, football, cricket, basketball, table tennis, long tennis and badminton. The month-long Annual Sports came to an end with athletes meet organized at MIC Sports complex on May 12, 2018. The winners and runners-up were awarded with cups and medal.
