Qatar Steel participated and awarded with best stand design in the recently held Project Qatar concluded on May 10, showcasing its products used in building and constructions projects along with sales and marketing partner Muntajat. More than 280 international exhibitors from across 21 countries and 126 local exhibitors participated in the high- impact four-day event, which provides networking opportunities that have been designed to foster the formation of new partnerships to help bolster Qatar’s already flourishing construction industry. Qatar Steel honored 211 of its employees during the long-service honoring ceremony in recognition of their achievements, tireless efforts and loyalty shown towards the company for the duration of their work, ranged from 10-40 years. In recognition of their commitment and dedication that they have put forward throughout the years of their service, Qatar Steel conferred the awarded employees with appreciation certificates, and a souvenir as an initiative to express their gratitude for the awarded employees. Industries Qatar has appointed Eng. Mohammed Nasser Mubarak A. Al-Hajri as Managing Director of Qatar Steel with effect from 1st May, 2018. Mr. Al- Hajri holds a Master’s degree in Gas Engineering from University of Salford in the United Kingdom and Bachelors’ degree in Chemical Engineering from Qatar University. He joined Qatar Petroleum in 1991 and has more than 26 years of experience in upstream and downstream. Mr. Al- Hajri has previously occupied various positions and responsibilities as Executive Vice President of Downstream Development Directorate of Qatar Petroleum and Vice Chairman of Industries Qatar Co. (IQ). He is currently VC of Qatar Fuel-Woqod (QSC) and also the Chairman of Ras Girtas Power Co.
